- Unique Architectural Style: This palace was mainly built with bricks. As a result, very little of the original structure remains today.
- Location by the Lake: The palace is located near the shore of a great man-made lake. This offers a scenic and pleasant setting.
- King’s Council Chamber: The complex includes a Council Chamber. The names of the king’s ministers are carved into the pillars.
- Evidence of a Royal Bathing Pool: The ruins also contain a royal bathing pool. It is situated just south of the main palace structure.
- Connection to a Visionary Ruler: The palace belonged to King Nissanka Malla, who was a significant ruler. He was known for his many architectural projects and renovations across the kingdom.
