✈️ Why should you visit Sigiriya?

Salagama Mini World’s End, also known as Hulangala Mini World’s End, is a scenic viewpoint at a sheer cliff within the Selagama Estate, offering panoramic views and a challenging hike.
  • Stunning Precipice Viewpoint: The location is a spectacular viewpoint with a sharp precipice. It offers awe-inspiring vistas of the surrounding valleys and the Knuckles Mountain Range.
  • Altitude and Dual Peaks: This Mini World’s End sits at an altitude of 760 meters (2,500 ft). The Hulangala Kanda mountain, 1,025 meters high, has two peaks. Thus, it was known as “Navgala” because it looks like a sailboat.
  • Gateway to Regional Vistas: On a clear day, visitors can see across the North Western and Central Provinces. You will see landmarks like the Knuckles Mountains, Dolukanda, and Rambadagalla.
  • Off-the-Beaten-Track Location: The viewpoint is situated off the beaten track within the Selagama Estate. Therefore, you must search for “Yatawatta Weeraparakrama Secondary School” to avoid getting lost.
  • Part of the Knuckles Range: Hulangala Mini World’s End lies at the southern end of the Knuckles Mountain Range. It is situated on the border of the Kurunegala and Matale Districts.

Guidelines

Weather Conditions : Visit early morning for the best views. Mist and rain can reduce visibility and make paths slippery later in the day. Waste Management : Do not litter. Carry back plastic and other waste to preserve the natural environment. Safety at the Edge : The cliff has a steep drop. Stay within marked safe areas, avoid going too close to the edge, and supervise children.
